San Ramon Home Sales Up Over Holidays

SanramonIt was interesting to note today that home sales over the holidays were up in San Ramon. Closed transactions for the week of Dec 28 through Jan 4 showed 15 transactions closed according to MLS data.

Closed transactions for the two previous weeks were 6 each. San Ramon hasn’t seen a week like this one since the last week of August 2007. The image to the right is a slice from San Ramon’s chart.

It could be that year-end tax considerations motivated San Ramon buyers and sellers to get the deal done or it could be something else. San Ramon set itself apart from all other surrounding communities in this regard as closed transactions in other communities stayed flat.

We chart the MLS data weekly. You can find it here.

What you will see in the charts this week for Danville, Dublin, Pleasanton, San Ramon and Walnut Creek is everything continuing the downward trend with Active Listings taking their usual end-of-the-year nose dive.
