A Lot Happens in San Ramon

San Ramon House Fire

Yesterday, Paul Mees, told me was out at the listing we have on Del Mar Drive in San Ramon and drove by a house that had burned down. As he described the house as having a lot of cars around it on the corner, I immediately knew which house he meant. You can’t miss it – on the corner of Del Mar and Pine Valley across from Walt Disney Park.

Today, I’m reading about it in the Contra Costa Times. Thankfully, no one was injured, though the house is a total loss.

New San Ramon School

The new Dougherty Valley Gale Ranch Middle School will open next week for the new school year begins next week. The school, at 6400 Main Branch Road, off Bollinger Canyon Road, has a 900-student capacity.

San Ramon Crook Nabbed

A man who is wanted for a long list of unpleasantries was apprehended yesterday after a 3–county high speed chase and other unsociable actions. Evidently, San Ramon is one of the communities that has been victimized by this lout.

I like the fact that Mayor Wilson makes safety and security of San Ramon one of his top priorities. Another is education. And since I’m thinking about it, so is a balanced budget.

Chevron Changes NASCAR Strategy to Sell Havoline

Chevron Corporation of San Ramon, CA has announced it will end it’s top-tier sponsoring in NASCAR. Instead, Chevron will focus on more regional and local sponsorship.

Everything Impacts Real Estate and Realtors

As I was reading through these and other articles, I realized that everything that happens within a community affects real estate and Realtors in the community.

A house fire not only displaces a family that needs to find a new home, it affects the neighborhood and could affect resale value for the house next door for a while.

Schools are one of the top priorities for families buying a new home. San Ramon’s high-ranking schools are a big plus for local real estate sales.

Crime certainly affects the desirability of a community or neighborhood. And while we’re on this subject, a nod of acknowledgment and appreciation for our San Ramon police force.

That's-all-folks-san-ramonA communities big employers certainly affect real estate values. Chevron relocates dozens of people a year into and out of San Ramon. A few local Realtors can thank Chevron for the majority of their business and income.

As my childhood friend would say – That’s All Folks
