An Accident Waiting to Happen
According to a video my sister alerted me to, I may well be.
Two weeks ago, I had some work done on my 1993 Jeep Cherokee. That's right – not all real estate agents drive a Lexus or a Mercedes or even a 2008 Honda. Some of us actually drive something until it gives up the ghost.
I had, what I thought were a new set of tires put on the Jeep.
Here's the video Filed Under – What YOU Don't know May Kill YOU!
According to the code revealed in the video, I am driving on a set of tires that were manufactured in the 37th week of 1992. I have 16 year-old tires on my car. I'm driving around thinking they are new. They may be unused, but they are far from new.
According to the video, when I drive down the freeway at 65mph – I may be risking my life as tires dry out and lose their elasticity over time. This can lead to the tire literally falling apart.
I'll be stopping by the shop where I purchased them tomorrow with a few questions.
