Bart Bus Carpool
Public Transportation in the East Bay
When you live in the Greenbrook Neighborhood in Danville you have several public transportation opportunities to get around, whether it is for work or for leisure. Danville is located in the 680-corridor just north of Silicon Valley and east of San Francisco. Many residents either work in the South Bay or in the City. The same as with all major cities we also deal with congested highways. Public transportation is therefore a good alternative for the car; it is efficient and it is better for the environment. Several of my friends prefer to take BART into the city; it gives them that extra forty five minutes to an hour to relax, read the newspaper or just listen to some music and arrive rested at work or at home.
From the East Bay, Dublin or Walnut Creek, you can take BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) into the city. I love taking BART when I go to one of the ball parks; both the stadiums of the Oakland A’s or Oakland Raiders and San Francisco Giants are easy accessible by rail.
A growing service in the area is carpooling: nearly 12,000 people in the Bay Area are searching for carpool or vanpool partners at any given time. Use the 511 RideMatch Service to find others to carpool with. There is a Park and Ride service just off of I680 on Sycamore Valley Road in Danville.
When you are relocating to the Bay Area and you prefer to be in a family oriented town, Danville is a great place to live. In case you choose to use public transportation I can ensure you that your commute from Danville won’t be longer than an hour to any place in the Bay Area, South Bay or City.
If you are planning to use public transportation 511 is your one-stop phone and web source www.511.org for up-to-the-minute transportation information. It's FREE and available whenever you need it – 24/7 – from anywhere in the nine-county Bay Area.
The Bay Area is home to over two-dozen public transit operators that offer bus, rail, ferry, and shuttle services throughout the region.
Our FREE In-Depth Real Estate Market Reports updated weekly, break data down by zip code and price point. These are the best "real time" sources of data you can get for your local market.
