Divorce and the Family Home

When You Divorce the Spouse, Should You Divorce the Family House?

kellymurray.jpgAccording to attorney, Kelly Lise Murray, there may be hidden costs to keeping the family home in a divorce situation. Due diligence on the part of home buyers is a normal part of purchasing a new home, but less than 3% of spouses who choose to keep the family home in a divorce situation perform the same due diligence. This can lead to unexpected costs down the road and may even have a negative effect on the asset settlement in the divorce.

Kelly Lise Murray, founder of Divorce this House, will be speaking on June 30th in Danville, California. The talk is being sponsored by Independent Women Homeowners of Alamo, Danville and San Ramon. Seating is limited. Complete details and registration here.
