2010 Color Trends

I just returned from Southern California where I attended a Sherwin-Williams 2010 Color Forecast educational seminar.  The color inspirations are a mixture of a bit of the past and the future.

Rooted – mystery, enduring, natural…colors of red tomato, the desert, amber, ocean turquoise.   These colors are rich, tribal in nature, earthy and mysterious. The appeal is as natural as the elements.

Treasured - aging, layers, artisan….colors of cream, smoky blue, gallery green, khaki brown. Repurposing, redesign on now very savvy! Weathering and heirlooms evoke quality materials that inspire this palette.

Simplified – translucent, structure, sophisticated…colors of pure white, magnet gray, enigma, butter. Less is clearly the new more. These hues are calm, with subtle undertones or easy living.

Refreshed – exuberant, fresh, optimism…colors of summer days, coral, sapphires, violets, pickles. Happy spaces are here again, bring fresh florals inside your home!
