Mark Curtis and The Making of the President 2008
Mark Curtis, formerly of KTVU Channel 2, is promoting his book – Age of Obama: A Reporter's Journey with Clinton, McCain and Obama in The Making of the President, 2008
.The book recounts Mark's frenzied road trip in covering a campaign and candidates that were all over the place - both physically and idealogically. If you're interersted in the inside scoop on the "campaign trail," this is the book for you. It's probably a great choice for political science students and those thinking of a career in the political arena.
You may recall that we wrote several posts when KTVU let Mark go. The response to those posts was surprising for us – it seems the citizens of Danville and the surrounding area really enjoyed Marks's style of reporting and his local knowledge. We continue to get the occassional comment on those posts.
For those of you wondering what Mark is up to these days, he's working on his Doctorate at St. Mary's. You can keep abreast of Mark and his insights through his website – Mark Curtis Media.
In answering the question we posted about in November of 2007 – Did KTVU Err in Sending Mark Curtis to Siberia? – I'd have to say probably. Mark continues to prove that good reporting is more about passion and personal interest than attempting to read a teleprompter.
