In the last five years two new developments, Monterosso and Wendt Creek, have been built just outside of the East Gate of Blackhawk on the east side of Danville . The neighborhoods are off Camino Tassajara, close by the Mustang Soccer Complex, schools, shopping, restaurants and movie theater at Blackhawk Plaza.

Monterosso – Viella, Milano and Vercelli were built by Lennar Homes in the years between 2006 and 2008. 

• The Monterosso-Viella homes range in size from 2800 square feet- 3000 square feet.
• The Monterosso-Vercelli homes range in size from 3000 square feet – 3600 square feet
• The Monterosso-Milano homes range in size from 3600 square feet-4300 square feet.

Wendt Ranch was built by Shappel in the years between 2003 and 2005. The homes range in size from 2400 sq ft – 5000 sq ft.The local schools are Quail Run Elementary, Diablo Vista Middle School and Monte Vista High. The new Creekside Elementary School just opened for school-year 2009-2010.

In August there were ten homes for sale; two houses sold: a 4564 square feet home with 6 bedrooms and 5 baths sold for $955,000, a great price for this Short Sale. The other home was smaller, 3252 square feet with 5 bedrooms and 4 baths, sold for $866,000.

Three homes went Sale Pending, two of them are listed over $1,000,000 which shows that this higher price point starts moving again also.

With two new homes for sale on the market, one detached and one townhome, the total number of Active homes in August was five. The detached home is a brand new home built by Lennar and is listed at $1,292,950. This Milano model is 4249 square feet with 6 bedrooms, 2,5 baths and a 2 car garage; it has a 33,381 square feet lot.

The Home Owner Association fees are $85 a month which covers the maintenance of the greenbelt and a play ground.
