Daniel Duran, 42, was arrested Tuesday in Willow Glen area of San Jose after an investigation by San Jose police officers following the alleged sexual assault of a real estate agent, according to San Jose police officer Jermaine Thomas.
A real estate agent was conducting an open house in the neighborhood of Curtner Avenue and Canoas Gardens Sunday when Duran sexually assaulted her, Thomas said. The woman attempted to fight him off, according to police, and he ran from the home when another person arrived.

Pam Ellis Kicks Some Real Estate Butt
I heard Pam Ellis of Diversified Capital mention several months ago that she taught women self-defense and I thought I would write her up on this blog eventually. Well, Daniel Duran finally got me off my butt to do just that.
Pam spoke for about ten minutes today at the Realtors Marketing Association's weekly meeting in San Ramon. The RMA is composed of Realtors, real estate agents and other professionals asociated with the real estate industry in San Ramon, Danville, and Alamo.
Pam came to talk about the necessity of being aware of self-defense, your surroundings and the fact that there are some strange people on planet Earth that don't value the well-being of others. Pam teaches an eight week course on self-defense for women and is creating one for men also. As she talked, she asked Nate Womack to step up to assist.
It was a priceless moment , one of those - "Who me?" moments. The look on Nate's face brought some good laughs into the room. After smacking Nate around a bit (just kidding), Pam demonstrated a few simple techniques to demonstrate that you don't have to have her years of training to protect yourself.
Visit the link above on Daniel Duran to learn more about the classes Pam is offering around the East Bay and the type of people she helps you to stay safe around.

VMA - April 6
Valley Marketing Association meeting today at Tommy T's in Pleasanton, CA. The association is comprised of Realtors, real estate agents, and other professionals associated with the real estate industry.
Today's meeting went smoothly except for someone spilling the beans abut my birthday and me having to stand on stage while a hundred people sang. If you know who ratted me out, let me know and I'll buy lunch!
As with the RMA meeting yesterday in San Ramon, this group from Pleasanton and Dublin, were much relieved to here that sexual offender, Daniel Duran, is behind bars. The bad news is that his bail is said to be around $6K so he may not be there long.
If you looked at our weekly MLS stats today, you know that the Danville market is heating up more than San Ramon, Dublin and Pleasanton. Studying the stats helps to emphasize that there are major differences in community real estate market trends.

RMA - April 5
Realtors Marketing Association - April 5
I managed to skate through the weekly RMA meeting today without having to stand up and have everyone sing happy birthday to me. A big sigh of relief in the room when it was reported that local sex offender Daniel Duran is behind bars.
Easter baskets were everywhere. The question arose about whether or not we have to now call them Spring Baskets. Personally, all of this politcal correctness chaps my cheeks at times. I was fortunate enough to grow up in a military family where we got to move frequently. This resulted in, I believe, less racial, ethnic, religious and local prejudice on my part and that of my siblings. I am not a Christian, a Jew, a Hindu, or a Muslim. Yet, I can support each of them in their traditions and holidays. Enough on this point.
