Daniel Duran, a sexual predator and convicted rapist, who was arrested on April 4th for parole violation has made bail and is back on the street. Duran violated his parole by being on the grounds of a local elementary school and was reportedly walking some neighborhoods in the East Bay area representing himself as a local preacher looking for a playmate for his (non-existent) fourteen year old daughter.

Duran was also walking into real estate offices throughout the Bay Area representing himself as an interested buyer. Duran was also reported to have attended many open-houses. Real estate agents, parents and the public at large are advised to be alert. 

Pamela Ellis from Diversivied Capital is a local self-defense expert who is activily involved in training women in the arts of self-defense. She teaches a six week course to help women dedfend themselves against bigger and stronger opponents known as W.I.S.E. - Women Intiating Safe Environments.

Since 1980, over 3,550 women have successfully graduated from the W.I.S.E. program; 19 of them have used these skills to save their lives in a life-threatening assault.

Last night KRON news reported that Daniel Duran had been arrested outside an elementary school. Danile has been a "peson of interest" the last several weeks to local law ewnforcement agencies.

Duran, a convicted sex offender, was going to local real estate offices and open houses and representing himself as an interested buyer. There was one report at one of the local Realtor marketing meetings that he had walked one neighborhood representing himself as a preacher who was looking for a playmate for his 14 year old daughter. He has no such daughter.

At the local Realtor meetings over the last several weeks, there were reports of Duran operating in Marin, contra Costa, and Alameda counties. East Bay Realtors, real estate agents, affiliates and all parents will be breating a little easier if Duran can be locked up for good. We'll see what the details are of the arrest and report more later.
